This past weekend my family and I got to spend time in Franklin, Montana on a ranch that is owned by our extended family. It was really cool to see some of the buildings that were still up from back in my grandma and great-grandmas time. We got a first class tour of the whole ranch, which is huge!! At one point we got out of the car to see a herd of cattle. It was hilarious because after we got out of the car they circled around us like they were herding us! Other cool things were being able to see for miles, the sunsets, sunrises, and the full moon...
On the other hand the ranch had a creepy aspect to it...For one we were about 15 miles from the closest town(which really isnt even a town) so the first thought that ran through my mind was we could be axe murdered out here and no one would know for days maybe weeks! I know that was an irrational thought but it didn't help much that the lady there joked about a body bag...sooo not funny! Then I think the icing on the cake for me was checking under my bed in my private room and finding two bolt action rifles under there. Needless to say I slept on the floor of my parents room.
Overall the trip was fun but I would never be able to live so secluded like they do. Today we left and went to tour Jellystone, Wyoming! It was awesome. Now we are eating our chinese take-out in our hotel in Cody, Wyoming while we watch the Olympics.
