The end of summer is near!

As the weeks keep flying by the realization that the fall semester will start again looms ever nearer...eh oh well. I'm actually getting really excited for my microbiology class so I'm hoping it doesn't suck like physiology did. Every day now I've been searching for jobs and applying here and there and this Thursday I get to move into my future apartment! No more couch/floor for me! Woo hoo! I feel bad to because I feel like an extreme moocher...other than that not much else is happening this week. Oh! We are trying to plan a Mt. Timp hike either Thursday night or Friday so that should be awesome! That's pretty much all that's been running through my head lately. Enjoy life!

It's Provo Time!

I noticed I like to take my extended leave of abscences from blogging but I think it's time I wrote again. This summer has been a crazy one but I loved every minute of it! I just recently got into Provo after staying with Lisa and David for a couple of weeks in Arizona! It was seriously awesome and I loved being able to spend time with them and catch up. All I have to say is, Goodwill anyone? Right before I got up here to Happy Valley I accompanied the Nickles to UM Creek at Fishlake for a mini family reunion where we hard core roughed it! It was seriously so awesome. We went fishing everyday and had four wheelers to ride everywhere and then good food to come back to :) Yum! I think my favorite part was going to Danish Meadows and then not getting back to camp until 11 pm and almost having the a search and rescue team sent out for us...ahhh good memories haha.

So now I'm sitting in my sister's apartment trying to think of some stuff to do today. I want to give blood today so I'm hoping my iron is high enough...it never is out here :( And then a few of my future roommates want to go swimming around one or two so we shall see what the verdict is. I hope all is well for everyone out there! Enjoy your day :)

Memories :)

So recently there has been a ton of deaths/injuries this week. Unreal. We said goodbye to two worldwide legendary people but we also said goodbye to a legend less well known, but still in the hearts of those that went through the girl's basketball prgram at Central Mountain High School. He was the legend known as Skip Confer. He had a certain way with people and how he coached that could have had some people on the sidelines with him, but for me and my graduating class he meant so much to us. He seriously was a legend though. If you heard the name Skip whispered in the halls at school it was either followed by a shudder or a warm smile and a long list of fond memories. My reaction would be the latter of course. He was my first basketball coach and instead of giving up on my lack of understanding and skill at first, he saw something in me that I couldn't and he pushed for me to become better. He took me under his wing and showed me the ropes of basketball and then threw the terrified me onto the court under his watchful eye. Because of him I love the sport and have grown in it. Plays were learned better, drills were executed faster, and yes I even grew a backbone and played hard defense for him my junior year. He wanted nothing but the best from all of us and we tried our hardest to give him that.

As of Thursday our hometown legend went out fighting. For the past couple of years he has been fighting off cancer. Regardless of cancer though he tried to make it to every home game and even some of the away games. It was hard on him, and us, but he did it for the love of the game. I can honestly say that alot of us have become better people from just having known him. He will forever be in our hearts and everytime any of us steps out on to the court he will be right there with us; encouraging, coaching, laughing, and celebrating our successes in life and basketball. Rest in peace Skip, you are in a far better place than you left. And no worries, we will all be ok :)

Back in Action!

So I figure its been like two months or so since I've written...should probably break that record and write a little. I've been back in PA for about a little over a month now and have seen eh five friends from high school, have no job, AND there is only so much to do around here. But! on the positive side those five or so friends were probably the only ones I really wanted to see from high school, I get to hang out with plenty of other friends that live here, I'm free from the death grasp of Domino's(even though a little income would be nice now and then), and we find random things to do. Like a road trip to North Carolina? Any takers? Lol.

Back to the high school friend thing...before I left for college I didn't want to leave my friends behind and forget about them, but now that's changed. I'm not saying I don't care about the people I graduated with and what not, but I don't feel that need to please them anymore and be the person they used to walk all over. I wish I could see them since we all live within five miles of each other but I've already made an effort to see them and they've ignored it. Oh well...life moves on.

This past weekend I had the most amazing opportunity to go on a spontaneous road trip to North Carolina with three of my close friends. Let me tell you, it was rockin!! Not only were our hands down amazing dance moves in the car rockin but the beach and being able to hang out with my friends and Jeff and his family were as well! It was definitely worth it and I want to thank those that made it possible:) Even if we were crammed in a car for hours on end, it was the best road trip ever!

So after all of the excitement and what not, I am now home trying to occupy the hours of the day with something more than tv, movies, and shoving my face full of food. A work in progress:)

A little bit of music...

So here is a link to one of the songs that my friend and I recorded. It's Gotta Be Somebody by Nickelback. We recorded another one too but it doesn't sound as good because we were off...so therefore only one haha.

All I can say is...let's play some rugby!

As you might be able to tell from the title...I'm playing rugby!! The women don't have a recognized team here for some reason so the only way we are recognized is through the Welsh Club. Haha awesome. I just joined up this past week and it is sick awesome! The girls are way nice! We thought they would kill us because we are stupid and don't know how to play, but they have really taken us in and have shown us the ropes because they've all been there before. Tackling is my favorite part, hands down.

Besides rugby I've been busy getting school work done, keeping in touch with people, playing new songs on the guitar, and just having a little breathing time. Oh! On Saturday my friend's boyfriend recorded me and Breckyn playing and singing and it was so awesome! It was kind of weird because I had a mic right in my face and I'm wearing these awkward headphones, trying to play along with the previous recording and such but it was so awesome! And he said that he would be willing to do it again and that he wants us to come back with more stuff. Yes!

On the right track again

So this past week was an interesting one for sure. I got into two pretty serious fights. One with my roommates and one with a really good friend of mine. Both were because we were misunderstanding each other and they both worked out for the better which is awesome! But it was just hard during them haha. On Friday I got to go down to Salt Lake and hang out with Megan! It was a ton of fun and we went to IHOP and basically just pigged out. Yum:) Then I pulled an all nighter. We got back from Salt Lake at two and then I went over to the Mariott Center because some of my friends were camping out there for the big BYU vs. Utah basketball game the next day(which we won 63-50!), watched holes with them for a bit, went back home to leave for the Belmont Apartments at five in the am so we could get in line for contracts that would be given out at ten, sat there for hours, got the contract!!!!!! and then went to the basketball game! It was a very eventful day might I add. I almost passed out though a couple of times at the basketball game because I was so tired but it was worth it! I think to top off the night I took a nap and then went country dancing! Yee haw:) So yeah thats basically all thats been going on in my life at the moment...

Bit of a rough patch...

This past weekend was kind of a bummer because we didn't do anything...again. That seems to be our new thing now: be boring as all get out. But! Friday morning I went to the temple and did family names and Jeff accompanied me and did the guys' names. It was so awesome! Not only did we have a good time but it just felt so good to get their names cleared and ready to go. Now it's their turn! And then my sister and I thought up a fun group date for who knows when haha but Jeff agreed to go with me! And then the weekend got progressively worse because I kept thinking about the tests I had to take the next week and yeah it all crashed on Sunday. My RA talked with me about it and it helped alot. So today has been a good day and the tests don't even seem that bad so it's all good in the hood! That's pretty much all that's been going on in my life right now...breaking down, being boring, work, school, and sleeping and eating. Good times.

A new look

So this week was kind of a bummer week except for a couple of fun things. On Wednesday I got to play in a soccer intramural game and we totally kicked butt! And then Lost was on right after it so I had to sprint home basically and if any of you know campus, I had to run from the indoor soccer field down by the Smith Fieldhouse all the way to Heritage Halls...two words: RB stairs! Killer, let me tell you. People were looking at me like I was insane probably haha oh well. Then Friday I kind of broke down when I had to do my physiology homework and I had no idea how to do it. Trina kind of helped me realize that I was going about it the wrong way and she was there to comfort me. Thanks Trin :) So then I was able to take the quiz and do alright on it. We then went bowling that night on campus which was alot of fun. We came up with bowler names. Jessica's was Ginger, Trina's was Berta, and mine was Helga.

Saturday I slept in like a loser haha and then made pizza for lunch with the boys! It was fun! Then we kind of all parted ways: Kylie and Lindsey went to the basketball game, Jessica Katherine and I went to the Ryan Shupe concert which was amazing!, and Meghan had a blind date! We all had a blast and even got a visit from our old roommate Veronica! It was so good to see her again. We ended up staying up til two talking in the kitchen, which caused us to sleep in the next day haha.

Church was really good today because of Relief Society! We talked alot about things that help us get through trials and I just think it came at such a good time in my life. And then tonight my sister had me print off a few family names so I could do the baptisms for the girls and Jeff is willing to do the men's names for me! I couldn't stop at just a few haha I had to print off a whole bunch! I'm just so excited to do their ordinances for them and give them the opportunity to accept the gospel!!!

Slowly but surely

So this semester has been moving at a snail pace! It's going good so far though so that's all that matters I guess. Phsyiology and Stats are going to be the real killers but they seem to be working out alright. Work is going pretty good too. The hardest thing is the getting up part though haha. Hmm I don't really have much to post about...Today we are going shopping and then to the tumbling gym that's around here so that should be lots of fun!! Below are some pictures of the new haircut that Julia wanted!!

So yeah a really random post but...yeah

So much...

Christmas break was awesome to be able to go home and see everyone again. There were a few people that I didn't get to see much and I regret that, especially those that were or still are going through a rough time. So I want you to know that I love you and hope everything is well!

Getting back to campus wasn't as difficult as getting to PA so that was a plus. Also I was able to fly with my sister and Emily Clark's mom so it made the trip better as well. Before I left though I got bangs! Jenny cut my hair for me one early morning and I love it! Thanks Jenny :)

Upon arriving back it was get back into school mode. The night I got in there wasn't anyone home in my apartment (later to find out that Jessica actually was) so I went over to the boys apartment to say hi to them and they were so excited to see me. Haha it was crazy to see them run out the door to give me a hug. Good times. Anyways, Saturday my roommates, the boys, and my sister went and got books and stuff and got ready for school on Monday. We also went to the BYU v. Wake Forest men's basketball game which was amazing! We could have beat them but the stupid refs...so anyways haha it was a close game and they lost. Then we went sledding that night and it was so much fun! Library hill is definately the place to sled because of the ledge at the bottom...amazing haha. We also discovered how hard this snowman someone built was...by running into it. Not a fun time haha.

Church was good on Sunday...besides the fact that we thought it started at ten-thirty but in reality it was at one as usual. All those sacrificed hours of sleep! It was also ice cold that day. Anyways it was a good Sunday. We had Trina over later for dinner and such and then went tunnel singing and were like the only ones there.

Then school and work started on Monday! Work was bright and early at five and it wasn't so bad. I mean yes I do have to clean the bathrooms but there are like two stalls in each and then I also have someone else working with me so it gets done faster. She didn't talk to me at first so it was kind of awkward but its getting better. So far school is good too. Monday and Tuesday I probably could have broken down and cried, in fact Tuesday I almost did, because my Physiology class is going to be the hardest thing ever. He said straight up that we should have taken a college chemistry class before this one. Are you serious?! I haven't taken chemistry since ninth grade! Needless to say I didn't understand anything in lab on Monday, but lecture was good because he was talking about anatomy haha so I understood that. I think I just had a really negative attitude about the class and already assumed that I was going to fail. After I talked to my sister and God that changed. A series of small blessings occurred last night to change my mood and I just have a feeling of peace now. As I was sitting in lecture today, not understanding anything he was talking about, I didn't feel over whelmed or the need to freak out so it's going to be just fine. Besides that everything else is going great. We had a little girls night out last night. My roommates, Emily, and I went to the dollar theater to see Forever Strong. It is such a good movie! It was alot of fun to go with the girls too. Good times. So yeah that's about it for now...
